Kaylor Blog

Hi all,
Things are going very well here in Texas. It's as hot as they say and even feels hotter. We started our work today, going to 4 different locations. The Pastor "in charge" reminds me a lot of Pastor Dave. Going 100 miles an hour and spinning many plates at one time. I don't know how he does it, he has so much to do. He is full of energy and very excited to work for the Lord and help the great people of Galveston who have lost so much. We are doing a variety of jobs from tiling, clean up, baseboard application, painting, plumbing, and on and on. They are putting their faith in us for sure, since many of us have never done this kind of work before.

Everyone is getting along really well and working well together. The church we are staying at is really nice and Ken and Jan, the resident keepers are great. We plan to get some sleep tonight, may even get to bed before midnight. Will keep in touch. Please continue to pray for stamina, strength, and eagerness to work hard for all of us.

Hi Moms and Dads!!!

Love,
Deb and JR

  1. As I sat in the dentist chair yesterday morning and saw the weather in Texas, I thought of the Kaylor's and your church group. You are special people for what you are contributing to the Galveston community and to the church! I have great respect for you and your hard work. Keep cool and be safe! Margie Walsh (VNA)

  10. Keep the faith and the strength to oontinue God's work in Texas! You all truly make us so very proud to be able to help those who need it most, as well as spread the love and word of Jesus. Please help them to remember that Jesus and their new friends from PA will never lose faith in anything that can be done. I am so glad that I finally found the website to give you all words of encouragement. Promise to keep cool and a very safe trip home.
Lots of love...Gary, Deb, Crystal and Scott Young and Matt and Maggi too!!!

  11. JR and Debbie,
Hi to you and yours. It was so nice to see your faces tonight as Pastor Todd shared a presentation of your Mission Trip photos with the congregation. I'm so glad that God allowed you all to go and do this together as a family! What a legacy to share in the ages, through the generations. Know that when your work on earth is tried by fire, the hearts your encouraging and touching now, will stand the test. You will be rewarded for this and it will allow you to cast more crowns at His feet! It is worth it all just to have more to give to Him! Feeling the heat should make you question how anyone could risk the fire of hell for eternity! It's an awesome way to change weather conversation into a salvation invitation!! I will continue to place all of you before His throne and I can't wait to hear you testify of all of His grace and goodness.
    For His Glory,
    Patricia Miller
